Psalm 5:3 “In the morning, LORD, You will hear my voice; In the morning I will present my prayer to You and be on the watch.”

The morning hours are often the busiest in our life, especially as we navigate adulthood, marriage, family, work and trying to stay healthy. From the early morning rush to get ready for work, to preparing the kids for school, and maybe trying to get breakfast ready or the early morning exercise to stay healthy and lose weight; with all these, we can get so carried away that we forget that God wants to hear our voice in the morning.

David said this “in the morning you will hear my voice”. He shows us a pattern in his life that one thing he would ensure to do in the early hours of the day is to start the day with God hearing his voice.

He would present his request and watch or wait. The Amplified version puts it this way “In the morning, O LORD, You will hear my voice; In the morning I will prepare [a prayer and a sacrifice] for You and watch and wait [for You to speak to my heart].”.

In Mark 1:35, we are told that while it was still early in the morning, Jesus rose up to pray. Decide today that in the morning, God would hear your voice. Your voice of thanksgiving and petition. May I tell you something? Maintain your heart in a ready state and watch God answer and speak to your heart all through the day.

In the Psalms today, we learn this “when we start our day lifting our voice to God, He would speak to our heart”.
