TAKE HOLD OF ONE; DO NOT LET GO OF THE OTHER
#CampusWisdom – Day 1

One of the most needed tools for every campus ministry leader, or anyone called to pastor on campus, is one word: BALANCE.

You must never forget why your parents sent you to school in the first place. They sent you to study, whether medicine, engineering, law, or accounting. The same is true of every student in your fellowship. Yes, we encourage students to serve the Lord passionately, and you must fulfil your ministry. But it must never be at the expense of your studies.

Your zeal to win souls on campus must never show up as failing grades. Purpose is essential, but think of the labour of your parents, and the parents of the students you lead. Some sold land. Many sacrificed comforts. All of them are doing their best to give their children a good education. Honour that sacrifice.

Here is the wisdom of the Preacher: you don’t have to choose between your calling and your certificate. Take hold of one, and don’t let go of the other. The one who fears God comes out with both.

Dr Myles Munroe taught that when purpose is not known, abuse is inevitable. Know why you are on campus. It will save you a lot of heartache.

This is the first thing you must settle as you pastor and labour on campus.
