Many times, we have heard the saying that “dreaming or dreams are free”, it really does not cost anything to have dreams and I completely agree with this statement. It is important to note that while the dream is free, it’s fulfilment would require that some price (cost) be paid.

This price may vary from mental adjustments to behavioral changes, prioritisation or even going back to school to study some more.

Many times, we have dreamers who have bogus dreams but are unwilling to pay the price for the fulfillment of those dreams.

When you see the life of Joseph, you could see a man with a God given dream (Genesis 37:5-36), while this dream eventually made him the prime minister of Egypt and arguably one of the most influential people in history (Gen. 41:37-45). This dream had a cost attached to it, I would outline a few price Joseph had to pay for the fulfillment of this dream;

1. Ability to live outside his parents’ home even though he was loved by his father.
2. Ability to survive the traumatic experience of being sold as a slave by his brothers.
3. Ability to walk in love amidst slander, persecution and false accusations.
4. Ability to maintain his joy even in prison, though he was falsely accused.
5. His willingness to walk in purity when Potiphar’s wife offered a way out of his servanthood.
6. The consciousness to deploy his gifts in the most trying circumstances (interpreting prisoners dreams when he was stuck in prison), and using his gifts in the most unlikely circumstances

We could easily see the adjustments Joseph made to see his dreams come to pass. Therefore, it’s important we ask ourselves what adjustments we too ought to make, which is the price that guarantees our dreams comes to pass.
