“Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called sons of God.” – Matthew 5:9
We live in a world where there are a lot of quotes from stoics, philosophers and sages of the world. But one of the most famous quotes that I like from Christian writer, C. S Lewis is “the son of God became the son of man, so that the sons of men would become the sons of God”, I believe this is a summarized version of John 1:11 – 13.
Every son must bear the DNA of his father, and one of the names of God is The God of Peace (1 Thes 5:23, Romans 15:33).
If our God is referred to the God of Peace, that means one of the key characters of the sons of God would be peace.
There in the beatitudes Mathew writes that those who are peacemakers will be called the sons of God.
Are we willing peace makers? Do we have this character fully developed in our lives, when there is cataclysm in the home, church, community or the nation what do we do? Do we initiate peace or more crises.
If you are a son of God you will be a peace maker.
