A missionary and a tourist are different. A missionary goes to the nations and regions with his mind, set on a mission to advance the kingdom of God and birth the purposes of God. A tourist goes for vacation, to see places and have a good time. There is nothing wrong with both.

Missionaries should stop creating an image of going to the nations as “success stories”. There is no need competing with tourists when you are on assignment.

If you need a vacation, that is completely understood, but we must understand our purposes of going to the nations.
The assignment is a serious one and there is much work to be done so focus is extremely important.

The younger generation must not see going to the nations as a reward, an opportunity to enjoy or take some star-studded photographs but must be a time of mission, sober reflection on the weight of the assignment and a huge sense of responsibility that the Lord has placed on their shoulders.
